The Flea Market, this is where you may find your stolen
candlesticks, car radio, etc... worth a visit. avenue du Cap-Pinède
13015, go Saturday morning, you'll also find the Antique fair and next
to it an enormous hall, half filled with bric-a-brac stalls, the other
half filled with food, life stock, spices and exotic products, take your
time and don't be afraid to ask questions on how to cook the products you
find. Once again you should go in the morning.
There are obviously many food markets scattered around Marseille, have
a walk through the Noailles area, here you'll find open shop fronts and
market stalls, selling fish, meat, vegies, cheese, it's quite an experience.
Metro stop Noailles, this area is best visited before 5pm and definately
not after dark.
Other markets, that mainly sell food, some clothing and some bits and
bobs are the Marché du cours Pierre Puget 13006 M° Estrangin
Prefecture. Marché de la Plaine, place Jean Jaurés M°
N-D du Mont cours Julien. Marché du Prado, avenue du Prado, starting
from the place Castellane, M° Castellane, a wonderful, very big market.
Marseilles also has a flower, a stamp, a book and an antiques market.

tuesday and saturday = at the top of the Canebière
wednesday = place Jean-Jaurés
thursday = Bd Michelet, Belle-de Mai, place Sébastopol and place
Felix-Baret
friday = Avenue du Prado
The Fish market on the vieux port is a must (morning)
or the Halle Delacroix (rue Vacon), you'll find all types of strange and
wonderful things to cook. Ask what to do with the fish that you buy they
sometimes have some interesting recipes.
